Each one of Phil’s Quills is made from natural rare wood. As with any fine wooden instrument care must be taken in order to maintain the magnificence and function of your fine writing implement.
To preserve the beauty of the wood and its finish, we recommend from time to time you apply a little furniture polish to a soft cloth and gently buff the wood. Clean the metal parts with a soft damp cloth. Do not use cleaning fluids or abrasive substances (or car wax) on any part of your writing implement, because they will damage the finish.
Extreme climate changes could also damage your pen. To protect it do not leave it out in direct sunlight or extreme cold. Do not leave it in a car, as the temperature extremes experienced in a car could destroy your writing implement.
Keep your pen in a safe place. We recommend storing it in a nice wooden box (we sell several styles), or in the plastic tube it was shipped in. If you store it in a drawer, pocket, or pocket book unprotected you risk damaging the wood and fitting finish. Although your new pen can withstand a lifetime of use it will not survive abuse. Protect it and it will deliver years of service.
Use your pen! It is designed to be written with, not placed in a drawer.
